of water and bone
Every year, salmon undertake an incredible journey, swimming upstream to their natal rivers to spawn before they die. In the fall, my favorite Alaskan beaches become covered in salmon carcasses. Once the salmon have been picked over by eagles, ravens, and insects, I harvest the bones and fully process them.
This collection is inspired by the life cycle and resilience of Alaskan salmon. Each piece celebrates the rawness, beauty, power, and interconnectedness of nature’s cycles—birth, death, and renewal.
Materials include coho and chum salmon vertebrae and jawbones. All ear wires are 14k goldfill or sterling silver.
